There are hundreds of different kinds of ab workouts, many of which are listed here: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.php?MainMuscle=Abdominals

The best one depends entirely on the individual and the amount of equipment they have access to. Personally, I enjoy crunches, knee raises and crunches using a stability ball. All of those are easy to do in your home.

The time taken to see results depends on your current level of fitness, but regardless of that you will notice a difference in a couple weeks.

Don't forget your obliques and lower back too, they are part of your core and you should train them equally.

now if you are looking for a (6 pack) which EVERY kid is looking for then you can not base it on ab workouts. I did this when i was around 12-13 years old and had no results, why? its because i didnt work out i just did those ab crunches. If you want a better body then you need to make working out an average routine, bench,squat,curl,etc. And if you have bad stomache fat then run until you lose it. Im sorry if this isnt what your looking for but i just thought i'd help if it was
