A 7 week old shitzu should still be with it's mommy. I am assuming you didn't take it away. I would leave it be as it still hasn't grown in its grown up teeth yet.
Do not use dog mints/biscuits/toothpaste as she is too young.
Make sure you are feeding it a good quality puppy chow (Royal Canin, Neutro etc.) not one you find at the grocery store. That can make a huge difference in breath and overall health.

Do you not like puppy breath? I love it! She is really too young for anything that makes breath better. All dog breath treats are too hard for her soft little teeth. Matter of fact, she will have soft teeth most of her life. It's just a trait of the breed. I'd say just deal with it or see if your vet has some puppy toothpaste. Don't use anything not designed for puppies.

You can buy breath mints for your pup they sell them in wal-marts also you can buy tooth paste for dogs to its pretty cheap. In the mean time you can get a breath mint of yours and let her take it but cut it in half and dont give like the listerin kind that make your mouth all cold because they are really picky about it and wont take it.

It can be normal for puppies to have bad breath- you might want to have a stool sample checked to make sure the puppy doesn't have worms( this can sometimes cause them to have a foul odor to their breath) With all puppies it is a good idea to have a vet check and make sure they are healthy and are up to date on their vaccines. Also at your vets office they should have a liquid that can be added to their water that helps with bad breath. I believe it is called Breathalizer.

Dogs are carnivores, and dogs fed a species appropriate diet have wonderfully sweet breath and clean teeth.
Get her off the crap in a bag and put her onto a prey model diet. Google it. It's the best thing I ever did for my dogs.

well... it sort of depends I have a 6 week old puppy and it still needs to fed milk from a bottle since his mother died a day after he was born.. I noticed that he did have bad breath but later found out that it was because his milk was so concentrated.. maybe you should ask if your dog still needs to be fed milk.. seven weeks is still pretty young..

lol. My beagle's breathe is horrible too. I bought these doggy breath mints. They are called yip yaps, they are in a tin-type container, like altoids are in. (Ask your vet if they are okay for a puppy, though. they might only be for adult dogs) also you can brush her teeth, they make dog toothpaste and toothbrushes, but i'm sure you could use a human brush if its cheaper (DO NOTTTTT use human toothpaste, it makes dogs sick)
