I consider that only when you receive a special and very good service you should give a very good tip.

I am inclined to agree here. I went to Tim Hortons this afternoon and got an order of chili and a deli sandwich. Sitting there in front of the register was a "tip" cup.
I've been known on occasion to toss my change into those jars for March of Dimes, and other such causes... but a "tip cup?"
For what? What did they do that they aren't already paid for. It is their JOB to be curteous and exceptional at what they do.
Its almost as if people think its ok to be jerks at their job, and if they happen to be nice- they expect a tip! What in the world has the world come to!?

What i think of I have been given out of that query is to ask the government to make eating places pay residing wages. it would be a good suggestion, yet additionally placed proprietors out of corporation. whilst i became right into a waitress, i might decide my pay+information, and that i might in many cases be at $30+ in keeping with hour, and that's tables that stiffed me counted in. this is extra appropriate than a lot of different jobs! I additionally hate the assumption of working for a place the place relatively everyone swimming pools information. the place's the inducement to do a stable interest whilst your coworkers are slackers? So tip nicely for stable provider.

Come to Australia my friend! We pay everyone a decent wage so the only people who get tips are waiters who give good service, it is then customary to tip 10%.

The worst thing I reckon? When I was in Sydney in a posh bar, they give you the change on a plate so your meant to leave some?!? what the?!?!

Those who are asking for the tips aren't asking for more than a buck - and if you're that hard on cash that you can't tip a buck than you probably shouldn't be at the establishment they're working at.

Those workers asking for tips (even the deliman) aren't making nearly what they're worth and for what they have to put up with! They aren't taking lunch breaks and they're not going out to dinner. They're not going to a barber to get their hair trimmed - their barber is at home. But I bet on the chances they do get to live in luxury - having someone cater to them - they tip more than you and me.

Ask me? You're an more than an ******** for cryin' about a buck.

I agree, but barely. Even food servers deserve no tip, if the service sucks.

I think there are only two kinds of service that should be tipped, food and barbers....
two things you don't want people messin' with: your food and your hair.

Well ********, you're right, there's a tip jar out everywhere these days. Eveyone wants something for nothing. The beauty is that the tipping is optional.

Guess it's because they all want to earn something extra, even if it is a little.
They saw that the waiters were getting lots of money out of it.
