I have seen ads for granite 'caps' that fit over the existing countertops. It gives the look of 3 or 4 cm granite countertops without the high price. What is this process called and are there web links to companies who price / do this? Are there suppliers / installers in the DFW, TX area?

The biggest company is Granite Transformation. It's a granite resin that looks just like granite but without all the upkeep required and is stronger than real granite. They make a form of your countertop and place it over your exisiting countertoop. No demolition. I'm sure they are in the DFW area.

I am a Realtor in CT. I think your choice of granite. The granite will go great with your cherry wood cabinets. Nice touch with the stainless steel appliances. That is an excellent touch! The colors will all go together perfectly. Usually when you go to pick out granite they will let you bring home a small sample of the choices your like the best. When you get home put them all up against your cherry cabinets. Pick the one you like best. I do like the one you have in the picture. Good luck! Realtor Tina in CT

Granite Transformations. It should cost around 59 per s ft...but natural granite is better...and costs about the same (especially prefabricated granite).
