Yes, of course you can lose while eating carbs!

It's a simple formula--you need to eat fewer calories than you burn each day to lose weight. You can do this eating chocolate if you must, but the problem is, with calorie-dense foods, you can't eat as much in volume as you can with other foods. So, if you eat a healthier diet, you're going to get be able to eat a lot more food, period.

For example, you could eat (approximately) 1 oz. of chocolate, OR 1 slice of whole wheat bread and a small apple. The calories are about the same, but which is going to make you feel fuller?

Eating less processed carbs is best--eat whole grains, rather than white bread or rice. They're better for you and will make you feel fuller.

There's nothing wrong with carbs. Your body needs them, and you should eat them--but not in the form of white sugar or processed flour.

Good luck!

everyones body reacts differently to carbs, I'm the same way as you...and i find it hard to not eat carbs! What i've done is have open faced sandwiches (i piece of bread only) and eating a lot of veggies so that I'm full and don't scarf down the carbs. Another suggestion if your goal is just to lose weight is to kick up the cardio. Do 20-30 min a day of hard interval training. Like 1 min sprint (or as hard as you can) and 2 min rest. Good luck

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Actually, the only reason low carb diets work well is because bad carbs make you feel hungry. So, in essence you are eating less calories when you are eating less carbs. Just watch your calories and you'll still lose weight.

It's definitely possible! It really depends on the amount of calories you eat, not if you eat carbs. A piece of bread at most has 120 calories. Don't feel guilty! Just make sure you eat healthy. Good luck!

Eat good carbs, such as fruits and veggies, brown rice, wheat bread and wheat pasta. I couldn't survive without carbs either

It's a common misconception that carbs cause weight gain. Look at the calories. CALORIES. Those cause weight gain. Don't eat more than 1700 calories and go about your life and you'll be ok, unless you're fat now, than exercise till you get where you want to be, then you'll be ok.
