Has anyone else had trouble restarting or shutting down? or gotten strange messages about a driver compatibility?

I had a good problem when I first got this comp that came with vista on it. The first time it did automatic updates it crashed the hard drive and I narrowed it down to a update it did on a video card that is not even in the machine so. Haven't had any other harware issues yet but lots of my software doesnt work right on it so, I miss my XP!

no i don't have any problem using VISTA
what is the error message,
note the error code and send the microsoft they will give the what to do or where the problem is caused
