As we get older, the pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle, that strand of hair will no longer contain as much melanin and will become a more transparent color - like gray, silver, or white - as it grows. As people continue to get older, fewer pigment cells will be around to produce melanin. Eventually, the hair will look completely gray.

People can get gray hair at any age. Some people go gray at a young age - as early as when they are in high school or college - whereas others may be in their 30s or 40s before they see that first gray hair. How early we get gray hair is determined by our genes. This means that most of us will start having gray hairs around the same age that our parents or grandparents

Hey, nothing to be shy about gray hair aren't always that bad. Look at them as natural highlights. Depending on which time of gray hair you have,it could be hereditary or from stress. If you are uncomfortable with it you can always have a colour put on or even blonde streaks to blend them in. Then you won't be able to see them as much. :) If you are stressing try to not to because it can affect your hair, if it's hereditary then I'm afraid it's here to stay. But like i said, you can have it covered if you like. Take care!

its in your genes.

Several of my guy friends (including my BF) have gray hair, and they're all very young (we're talking 19-20 here).

Do you have dark hair? It shows up a lot more if you have black hair.

They personally had a lot of stress in their lives as kids (parents with cancer, undue stress put on them) and got gray hair very early. If it's not stress, it may be in the genes.

It's a natural process where your hair loses pigmentation... the result is you get grey hair.... but sorry, there's no solution... impossible to revert.

hair turns grey because of pigment issues encoded in your DNA. blame your parents!! you can dye it for now. wherever you get your hair cut should be able to blend the right colors and match it to the rest of your hair.
