True enough, if he were a loving god, why would he torture his own children? You're right.

God doesn't send you to hell, you choose to go there. Everyone gets a chance to hear the Word of God after they lose their innocents. Those who accept and choose to follow God will have eternal happiness. Those who turn away from this gift is basically saying "no thanks, i don't believe in that mombo jombo". So what is God supposed to do? Is he suppose to give all the people who have been faithful to him and the people who denied his very word the same gift. if He did, there'd be no point in being Christian if you were going to get the same gift as an atheist. Plus, you make it seem as if God is some terrible being and your the victim. Christians all over the world suffer from the arrogance and ignorance of the world.
I know this isn't going to win best answer, 'cause i'm not agreeing with your opinion, but i just had to answer your question.

I believe there are degrees in heaven, and that most people will obtain some degree. There are only very few who get the endless torment, and those people deserve it. I believe that most will have some degree of glory and happiness, it just increases with how much you become like the Father and the Son. I believe that we will need to repent of our sins, etc., but that doesn't mean torture (though it often includes sorrow for what we've done).
To send my own child to endless torment, it would take them having tormented my other children a great deal and to not ever be sorry for it. It is safer for my other children, and it is the way that person has become. If they learn their lesson, I would let them get some degree of glory from me, but it wouldn't be as much as the children who have tried to help others, etc.

No. We are all monsters. Fact is, we deserve punishment. We disobeyed God. If God truly is perfect and just, the sinners must have a punishment. He doesn't WANT to punish us, as a father doesn't want to punish their child, but he must.
Our sin is our fault. God made Adam and Eve sinless and perfect. THEY sinned. We are sinners
"The punishment for sin is death". Eternal death=hell.
But God is so loving that he made a way out! That's Jesus.
God cannot exist if he dwelled with sin. We are sinners. We can't get into heaven alone. That's why he sent Jesus. This is the point of Christianity: We all messed up. None of us can get into heaven alone. We all need Jesus.
God loves us so much he sent Jesus.
Are you beginning to understand?

The thing is chippy is you do not have the mind of God- and one thing you forget is that His ways are not our ways---and He is above us- and everything He does is right. So it is HIS justice. Just like we have a justice system here so does God with sin. God cannot even be in the presence of sin--and sin must be punished. Why should God let someone into His kingdom when they lived in filth and sin and rejected Him all their life on earth? Well there is a way---Do you not see HE MADE A WAY? Because God is loving, and merciful and FORGIVING, and that is only through Jesus Christ. God's ways---sin must be forgiven through the shedding of blood- as Hebrews says. And He shed His own blood for us- so that we could be set free, when we believe and repent of sin. Not only that, but God changes us and opens our eyes to His truth. It is His holy spirit living in us that keeps us spiritually discerned. It is the power of His gospel, and His grace that saves us- through faith, as Ephesians 2:8 says.
Would a judge here on earth ( our ways) let a convict go free because that judge is supposedly loving? NO. It is called justice. But what if a man stepped in and said "Judge let that man go and I will pay his fine" ---well that is how it is with God, he did this, and when you believe it and acknowledge you have sinned against Him, you are set free, forgiven. You are no longer under the bondage of sin and hell.....but you are given eternal life in Him- and not only that BUT JOY while here on earth, the joy of His salvation is amazing~

Try to think of it this way.
You are a parent and your teach you child to do good. They grow up and move away but they decide to do bad and not listen to you. You try to help them even tho you know they are doing bad. Now you die and they continue to do bad.
Bottom line is if you can't do the time don't do the crime.
My thought is what is the reason for not doing good or believing in God? But I know, this stuff is just too unbelievable to be true. So I guess it's all about faith. If you don't have faith your are lost.

God does not torture people for eternity. Why would he do that? I am only a teenager that has not finished reading the entire bible, and I can tell you that with certainty.

Listen, God created man and He could make any rules He wanted. He is good and loving, but hates sin. Just believe that Jesus rose from the dead and He died for your sins.Find a good Christian church and find what you are missing.

Why should we try to explain God to someone who doesn't care about God anyway? You wouldn't waste your time reading a well thought out answer anyway, so why put forth the effort?

The Almighty YHVH created this world very good. Once man sinned, he could no longer meet the requirements of YHVH. Because of His great love for man, He sent His son the Savior. The Savior's name means YHVH is my Savior!--YAHOSHUA! The only way one can have his sins taken care of is to invite the Savior in to carry them. If a person chooses to remain attached to their sins, they will be consumed in the cleansing fire the Almighty will send to cleanse this world so He can make it new! How could the Almighty be more generous?
