So in short.... what do you think of abortion, euthanasia/suicide, and the death penalty? And what religion are you?

I was raised Lutheran, but that's really not that relevant to the discussion.

Life is indeed sacred. Of course, that's sort of relative to your living conditions. Here in the US where most of us get 3 squares a day and sleep under a solid roof, warm in our beds, life is real "sacred."

In countries where people don't live nearly as long due to disease and living conditions, where religious beliefs make the afterlife MUCH more appealing than Earthly existence....life is....."cheaper." And I don't mean that in a pejorative way.

I'm not totally comfortable with the death penalty, but there are also some VERY evil MFs out there that will NEVER be rehabilitated nor serve any useful purpose to society, and would probably revert to their violent or perverse ways. Take them out if you must. It's either that, or find some safe, useful way to employ them for the common good.

Suicide? Ask me that question - if you can - when you're a vegetable, hooked up to machines, soiling your diaper. If you're even capable of communication at that point, we'll talk about it. I didn't even mention extreme pain, bed sores, etc......

Tell me that's dignified.

I think that people deserve to have their living wills carried out as they wish, painlessly and legally.

I also think it's easy to postulate and pontificate about death when you're healthy and - presumably - far from it...........

Just my opinion.

Personally, I think abortion is a woman's individual choice. But for me - I would not have an abortion unless the child was severely retarded or deformed, if I was raped, or my health was in danger from the pregnancy - and even then, only in the first three months. I don't agree with late term abortion at all.

I do believe that if someone is terminally ill and has a wasting disease - suicide/euthanasia should be a viable option for that person. They should have that choice. I don't believe it's right otherwise.

I do believe in the death penalty because violent criminals cannot be rehabilitated, and it's just a waste of money keeping them alive on taxpayer dollars.

I practice Daemonolatry.

Abortion - if the fetus exhibits organized brain waves indicative of thought and would be viable outside the womb it cannot be aborted but the mother can have the fetus removed by c-section and placed in neonatal intensive care. Before it exhibits organized brain waves indicative of thought it is just a bundle of cells and can be aborted. Between those two times (i.e. thought but not viable) I would not permit an abortion except to save the mother's life.

Euthanasia without consent - if the body exhibits organized brain waves indicative of thought I would not permit it, otherwise I would.

Euthanasia with consent, assisted suicide, suicide - no problem with any of these. It's your body, do with it what you will.

Death penalty - for certain crimes and a certain level of proof, I agree with the death penalty. I would also offer prisoners the voluntary assisted suicide option.

In short, for the first two, cogito ergo sum. For the third, my body, my self. For the fourth, Jeffrey Dahmer.

I am an Atheist.

You can make up your mind about the death penalty by looking at verifiable and sourced facts. I don't think the other issues can.

Here are some solid facts about the death penalty-

Re: Possibility of executing an innocent person
Over 120 people on death rows have been released with evidence of their innocence. If we speed up the process we are bound to execute an innocent person.

Re: DNA
DNA is available in less than 10% of murder cases. It's not a miracle cure for sentencing innocent people to death. It’s human nature to make mistakes.

Re: Who gets the death penalty
The death penalty isn’t reserved for the “worst of the worst,” but rather for defendants with the worst lawyers. When is the last time a wealthy person was sentenced to death, let alone executed??

Re: Deterrence
The death penalty isn’t a deterrent. Murder rates are actually higher in states with the death penalty than in states without it. Moreover, people who kill or commit other serious crimes do not think they will be caught (if they think at all.)

Re: Alternatives
48 states have life without parole on the books. It means what it says, is swift and sure and is rarely appealed. Being locked in a tiny cell for 23 hours a day, forever, is certainly no picnic.

Re: Victims families
The death penalty is very hard on victims’ families. They must relive their ordeal in the courts and the media. Life without parole is sure, swift and rarely appealed. Some victims families who support the death penalty in principal prefer life without parole because of how the death penalty affects families like theirs.

Opposing the death penalty doesn’t mean you condone brutal crimes or excuse people who commit them. We should make up our minds using common sense based on solid facts, not revenge.

I think life can be terminated before it becomes a fetis, but for a good reason.I am not for the death penalty and am pro euthanasia if the pain is too great to bear.I am no religion ,but am spiritual,(God within oneself)

Nothing is sacred on this earth. It is justified to terminate life before natural cause end because l;ife itself is an accident. You and I are here on the face of this earth just because of your parents. If they had decided not to have you ,you would"nt.Do you mean god is responsible for a child born out of rape??? strange. Why should such a person exist and subject himself or gherself to all kinds of ridicule.

Abortion : Why should one risk ones life unless it is very essential
Euthanasia: Of course.Let us not prolong untold suffering.Give then the right to choose.
Death penalty: Yes For cold blooded murder and rape and for terrorists.
Suicide: What to say about suicide: we cannot stop it because we do not know who is going to commit suicide.
My religion: Humanity

If human life is sacred, what should become of one who terminates it? Should a man be allowed to kill another, and then live on? This thinking does not uphold the sacredness of human life, but makes a mockery of it.
But if to protect human life, the life of a murderer is terminated, let the guilt be on the head of the one intending evil. His wicked intentions have terminated his own life.

"Evil men do not understand justice,
But those who seek the Lord understand all things."

in case you have self assurance existence is sacred then that brings an stunning quantity of non-public accountability with it. It ability you will possibly desire to consistently attempt to handle anybody with understand for all time. something that harms the honour of a guy or woman would be unable to be indulged in. Bullying, gossip, humiliating somebody in a collection, and so on. you will might desire to remember their emotions while handling them, as they're sacred and could be taken care of as such-whether they don't manage you the comparable way. Nevermind, homicide, abortion, and so on.

The only justification for taking another life is self defense, when you or another are in immediate physical danger, and I wish that was never necessary. I am a Christian.

May God Bless you.
