I am multi-denominational. Why? Because I find merit in certain aspects within all religions. I was born and baptized a Christian. So because my childhood was surrounded by beautiful stories of Jesus, He comforts me. I also love the openness and simplicity of Buddhism and the way of the Tao. The introspection about oneself and the quiet way one is to follow, through daily meditations, seems extremely wise to me. We must look within to be able to see clearly what lies without. The Hebrew Bible and Kabbalah appeal to me as well. It is fascinating that the script s of the holy hebrew texts also have numerical values assigned to them. There exists a message within the message. I still haven't deciphered that yet. It takes a lot of reading to understand all this. I'll be a biblical scholar by the time I'm finished. The only fact I've so far discovered in all my religious searchings that smacks of fakery is the origin of the Book of Mormon. It sounds so contrived and set-up. The prophet who began Mormonism apparently was visited by a holy vision who told him where some secret texts were located. He had to wait several years before he could get these texts to read them himself. Then he finally gets them. They are copper or brass panels on which is inscribed the Book of Mormon. He records these and keeps the copies as he must give back the original panels to the vision. How convenient! The panels go back up to heaven and here he has this doctrine, which he conveniently had several years to write himself is what I think, and then he announces to the world this "miracle" of the Book of Mormon and so established the Mormon Church. Oi-eee-vay! What hooeey! So between all these discrepancies, creationism and evolutionism, in which I believe both are valid. God created us but that does not exclude that He also designed the process of evolution. I don't get this argument! God, the Source of all creation, the complexity of which is beyond much of our comprehension, yet the science world maintains this disproves God's influence! I say it confirms it! Without the wonder of God, we would have no organisms for the scientists to study in the first place! The story in the Garden of Eden is symbolic of the story of the creation of man, not to be taken literally, yet all Bible oriented people say it is so, therefore evolution is not right! Oh, brother, we all need to open our hearts and minds! We are all worshipping the same Source. We have just given Him different names according to the cultures from which we sprang! All these wars and killings in the name of religion are so ignorant and futile! We should all have respect and tolerance for those of other beliefs than ourselves and mind our own business! The Catholic Church has such a monopoly in the world of religion that I think has gotten out of proportion. They are not superior to anyone else. I am referring to their wanting to ban Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code". It's a story book. Why are they so threatened by his harmless implications? Like, are they perhaps hiding something then? Is Brown maybe right, that Jesus has a blood line of which there are descendants today? What a bunch of crap all in the name of religion! So what if there is or not? Are we all not children of God anyway? I am religious but as time goes on, the more I see that actions of Catholics and Protestants killing one another in Ireland, or the Jews and Muslims skirmishing in Israel and Iraq and the Jihad Holy Wars acting up from time to time, I am going more and more toward just saying I believe in a Source, the Source of Creation. No label, no name to my belief, just God and me, no middle men, no priests to sully my communications with the higher power. I mean really, Catholic priests, in particular, that have molested so many children throughout time, when is this religion-based madness going to end? Organized religions go too far when man attempts to assume the role model of representing God on earth to the masses. Obviously, they are still men and their sexual urges get the best of them once in awhile, so the little children are offered up as sacrifice for their sinful acts. The Church should allow every man and woman to have the option to be married or have a partner at their side. How does this make them ungodly? This system of union between man and woman or the same with the same is only human, which was created by God in the first place. And the poor homosexuals who are damned by most religious ideologies, this is blasphemy itself! They were also created by God. Why are they singled out as disrespecting God with their preferences? They are no different than a man and a women in union. Religion and man's interpretations and manipulations of the original words of God, does more to separate humanity than bring us together. I'll just go off in my own corner, thank you very much. Everyone else may worship as they so choose. But I prefer going directly to the Source. I do not trust man to bring their interpretations to me. I worship in silence. And no one is interfering with my communication with God. It is pure, clean, simple and direct, and I don't want to point fingers or kill anybody! May God bless us all!

Why do you will possibly desire to alter into one or the different? flow flow to church homes and lookup the doctrines. Why is she closed to being Catholic? Why are you closed to being Baptist? no remember what, you will nonetheless be Catholic at coronary heart. And, she would be able to be baptist at coronary heart. you will possibly desire to take a seat and discover the place you 2 rather fluctuate and be sure if it is going to impact your courting. I dated a guy that grew to become into Catholic, and nevertheless I enjoyed him dearly, the non secular distinction grew to become into super adequate that it tore us aside. you will possibly desire to determine it out before you get too deep into the courting. otherwise, attempt random church homes jointly and attend one yet another's church and hit upon issues you're able to ok like approximately it and discover it in different church homes jointly. seek for the flaws you compromise on. If she does not choose a church it rather is liturgical (practices the completed Christian 365 days alongside with Lent, Holy Week, and so on), and you do, then you are somewhat up a creek. lol Baptist and Catholic are surprisingly a good distance different than for one yet another. you're able to attempt non-denominational that has undemanding group for the two considered one of you. Wiccan, by way of:

-- raised Anglican
-- became Roman Catholic in high school
-- then a "soft" atheist in university

I'm a Wiccan because I've had a personal encounter with the Goddess and when I searched for a religion that would allow me to explore that connection, Wicca was the one that most closely matched my values and worldview.

I have no denomination. I have found that most churches either teach things that are not in the bible, or they teach what's in the bible but in a different way than God intended it to be taught.
But of all the churches I have gone to I think that the Pentecostal churches teach the closest to the bible. If it were up to me I would go to a non-denominational church, but I'm only 15 and my parents make me go with them to a Pentecostal church.
The fact is that what the bible says is true no matter what all the different religions say. It just is.

Some thoughts on your question:

1. Muslim is not a denomination, it is a world religion.
2. Denominations, such as Baptist and Catholic are from Christianity, another world religion.
3. Buddhism is also a world religion.
4. Other world religions usually do not state differences in beliefs as denominations, but sects or factions.

So, to restate your question:

What world religion to you belong or identify with? and do you belong or identify with a particular sect, faction, or denomination?

Every religion has its specific beliefs. You know Baptists don't believe in the Pops, Catholics believe you are receiving the body of Christ at Communion, Buddhists have their specifics and so do Muslims.

If that makes them happy, what's wrong with that?

I was baptized and confirmed a Catholic - but haven't been to any of their services in years. I haven't figured out which religion I believe in the most. All of them have some part that I don't believe in yet.
It would be interesting to see why everyone else is and why..

Agnostic= because I believe no one religion has gotten it right yet.I believe in Evolution and I also believe in a "higher power" I just don't think we as humans can grasp the true concept of God.I believe god is everywhere and in everything-I believe this presence is love and much more and is infused in us all and in everything.I believe it to be the driving force behind Evolution as well.

Daemonolatry. I worship a pantheon of deities (each that represents a natural force in nature or represents a human emotion). I came to Daemonolatry after a lot of soul searching, research, and personal experiences. It was the right choice for me. For me, Daemon worship (which is what Daemonolatry means) has taught me a lot about myself and others, and I feel it has helped me grow spiritually on my own path to mindfulness and enlightenment.
