John Told The Strangers 'You Brood Of Snakes & Vipers!!!'..?

...how is it that nobody came along and beat the hell out of him?? that is not a very nice thing too say too strangers. seems like john was not a very nice man. any opinions???

John was considered by the populace to be a prophet of God. The "strangers" would be scared to do that because of the people.

Perhaps God set a 'standard' to live by and they knew John was closer to the standard than they were; yet for years they considered themselves the standard.
