I have 2 dogs that i really love so much. But the problem is my mom and step-dad want to get rid of them because they are outside and they fight a lot and they always bark at each other. They are only like 5 months old and i love them dearly. they are my babies and they are my responisiblieties to look after them and give them fresh water and feed them and i really dont want to give them away. How do i convince my mom and step-dad to let me kepp them, and how do i get them to stop fighting? HINT HINT: they are both males and they aren't fixed.

the reason why they fight is because yea they are pups but they are big! and the bigger one tries to eat all the food.

Sounds like you need some serious interventions. Get them fixed for one and start crating them. Also it sounds like thye would really benefit from a "Sirius" puppy class to learn how to be social with each other and other puppies. Since they are only 5 months old they need to be TAUGHT what is good behavior and what is inappropriate behavior. This doesnt mean hitting them when they are bad or yelling or whatever it means more of rewarding them when they are doing what you want them to be doing. When they are playing nice with each other give them lots of treats and tell them how good they are. When they start to fight seperate them and crate them until they can calm down. Do this until they can play nice with eachother although I really do believe getting them fixed soon will settle them down a bit.

I have the same problem between two of my males. I have three males Jerry, Buck, and Caesar. Buck love his son Jerry. Jerry is fixed Buck isn't. Buck and Caesar do not get a long. Buck fights with Caesar so he is no longer allowed near the other one. What happens is that problems occured between them when Caesar wasn't fixed. For the most part Buck didn't like him before he was fixed and he doesn't like him now. Basically it won't do you any good to get them neutered. At least not them both. The more aggressive one yes should be neutered. That will cause it to stop being so territorial and knock off some of the aggression. Now to fix this problem (we have done this and it worked but we just don't bring them around each other anymore) get two muzzles. Put them on the dogs and let them play. Watch them though. Muzzles dont always stop fights. Work with them. Play with them both and keep working with each other to show that its good to have the other around. Dont take off the muzzles until you know that their getting along. Just take it one step at a time and be carefull. Break up fights with water, or an air horn. I hope this helps.

By saying "HINT HINT" you are telling us you already know the answer here. If your parents won't pay to fix them, will they shell out money for vet bills when one or both gets hurt in a fight? If you talk to the local humane society they can refer you to a low cost spay/neuter program. It is in their best interest to be fixed and your family's, as their current living situation will only cause aggressive behavior that can lead to a law suit should they get loose and bite someone. You also need to separate them for feedings. Sadly, this is a bad situation that will only get worse once they mature, not better. If you can't afford their proper care on your own and your parents don't want to help you with them, your parents are telling you they don't want the dogs. This situation has an excellent possiblity to end with you being forced to bring them to a shelter, and don't kid yourself about the chances of them being adopted. You really need to step up to the plate and think about their welfare. Now may not be the best time for you to own dogs. If you really love them you will think with your head and not your heart.

Two males that are NOT fixed, together, causes agression. I say be a responsible dog owner and GET THEM FIXED. It could lead to worse agression like biting a human, even. And also, if they are outside all the time, what else, better do they have to do than bark and fight with eachother? You're best bet is to give them to someone that can take care of them properly

You already know the answer to your question.

If they are left outside all day and nobody is taking the time to work with them and care for them properly then they should find a better home. And yes they should both get neutered, but you already knew that!!

Why don't you contact your local rescue group and ask them what can you do to make things better so that you can keep your dogs?

get them fixed when they are old enough.....are they fighting or are they playing.....puppies can be load and kind of rough when they play.....tell your mom and step-dad that you love them and that you are doing a good job caring for them......show them that you do everything and ask them for nothing (when it comes to caring for them).....look up some info on the web or in books and show them what you have learned......tell them that you are asking for help from other dog owners (as you are doing right here right now).....talk to them about having them fixed soon.....that will calm them down and let them down....present you case but listen to them too and address there concerns

UMMMM....first of all i might recommend getting them fixed. second of all how about putting a fence in between them. or you should let them spend more time together and when they fight give them a punishment. when they don't fight you should give them a treat. maybe you shouldn't get them fixed. most people don't want an unfixed dog.
