If so, then wouldn't it be the safest bet to get yourself demon-possessed to assure salvation?

The correct answer is no because there is no heaven and there are no demons.

Most who get possessed and I deal with Exorcisms are how should I say handicapped and have no mental illness. But childhood problems. And, vast majority who get possessed are children. So, yes they do go Heaven. Since GOD accepts those that are handicapped and children.

If someone were truly demon possessed they opened the door somewhere in their life to these demons. To go to Heaven you need to be Jesus possessed. Demons are nasty!

Dear meat,

The fact is after Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden all mankind became servants of sin and satan. When God told Adam that in the day ye eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil ye shall surely die. Adam and Eve ate the fruit but they did not physically die, thye died spiritually, that is the lifeline from God to man was broken. Man was spiritually dead. He was controlled by satan and sin.

Jesus Christ came to redeem (buy back) some of these slaves from the prison house of satan. In order to buy them back Jesus had to become a substitute and take their sins upon Himself. Then He (Jesus) had to endure the equivalent punishment of spending eternity in hell. The trouble is that eternity is forever.... Only God (Jesus) could endure the enormous punishment of hell compressed into the hours between the Garden of Gethsemanae and when He said, "It is finished." It was not the physical suffering He endured that paid for sin but what we could not see with our eyes.

Another thing that many people do not know is that Jesus did not pay for the sins of everyone. If He did then no one could end up in hell. The truth is that Christ died for certain people which are called His "elect". These "elect" were chosen before the earth was even created (Ephesians1:3-6). Because God is no respector of persons and all people are sinners, each person stands on level ground with God. Even a devil-possesed person can be saved if it is God's will. The point I want you to understand is that anyone who is not saved (born-again) is under the power of satan. Only Christ can make someone free.

Who said it wasn't their fault? No one can be possessed except they allow themselves to be possessed. God gave us each to possess our own bodies. That possession cannot be taken, only given.

Now, some who are accused of being possessed really have mental illness. This is a different situation altogether. In this case, as in all others, we will be judged according to that which we have been given.

Well, I don't believe in heaven, demon possession, or salvation so... I don't really have an answer.

Nope. You can't be demon possesed if you trust Jesus. Therefore, you weren't going, anyways.
