Someone bought the seven Bibles you have, and gifted you with them. It is the best selling book of all time.

The only Bible ive ever owned is one that a local Church gave to every household in 2000. It was a gift from the Church for the millennium. White cover with gold lettering. It was just put through the letter box. The Churches don't bother you here. You have to go to them, which is the way it should be.

Betti - I collect them and yes, many have been given to me for my collection...but I do also buy many. For my own research I use e-sword online Bibles and the New Living Translation. When arguing with fanatic fundamentalist I use the King James Version just so they do not use that as an excuse for my being a heretic. I also give away a lot of them that I have spare copies of.

I think people buy bibles for others quite a bit. I've owned quite a few myself, and all but the one I took from the Holiday Inn (long story) were gifts.

I owned 5 and I only bought one of them, when I was studying Christianity and Catholicism. I still have 3 on my bookshelf now, along with my 2 copies/translations of the Q'uran and a copy of the Book of Mormon, my old Book of Shadows, the Pali Cannon, so on and so forth... I've got quite a juicy little library.

Yes, I've bought two. One is an NIV, and the other is The Message. The rest of my Bibles were purchased for me. I even still have my first Bible.

I have bought 4 for my own use, and a number for other people who expressed an interest, but said they could not afford to buy one.

What a silly question.
Of course! I own 3 of them and I bought 2 of them and one of them was given as a gift.
