I live in Utah. For cooling in the summer we use swamp coolers. My window unit does not allow me to "close" the window that it sits in and my cats are very good at blowing their way throught just about everything I have tried to keep them in. Any Ideas??!?!??

Nevada here. Yep I know what you mean. We had the exact same experience. My husband used a piece of inner tube rubber. They dont seem to like the smell of it, and its to heavy for them to move. It works try it.

Maybe some kind of mesh netting. Kind of like those cargo nets for suvs. It depends what you need to attach the barrier to (metal, wood, plastic, etc.) You could try heavy duty staples, electrical tape, metal clips, even screws. You would just need to be sure that the cats couldn't squeeze by the edges of the mesh, so attach it to your window really well (maybe by putting a staple or screw in every two or three inches.)

I suggest a two-pronged approach: heavy mesh (watch out for sharp ends!) to keep your lap lions inside, and citrus scent to repel them.

Get a scat mat from target. It sends a shock, just a tiny one in them when they step on it. That should do unless they become prone to it.
