A promise ring can symbolize whatever YOU want it to symbolize. Me and my boyfriend of four years have a promise ring, and for us it symbolizes that we are committed to each other, and that we will not cheat on one another. It can mean different things to different people. If you google "promise ring" you will find out all of the different uses and purposes!!

It is a ring symbolizing your commitment to someone that you are not quite ready to be engaged to; usually because you are too young. This was popular when I was a teen over 30 years ago!
