If he performed the miracles that are ascribed to him, wouldn't that have attracted notice? Wouldn't there be more Roman discussion of him?

That is why we who believe know that the Bible holds the truth"

*That's* how you know? This is a scary world in which we live...

Why do you suppose there are 2 billion Christians in the earth today? Why does western civilization divide time on the basis of the birth of a Jewish carpenter? Actually the the entire New Testament could be reconstructed from the writings of others with the exception of less than 100 verses. You obviously ignore any writer from antiquity who is actually a believer.
The ancient Greek manuscripts for the New Testament exceed over 500 that are more than 1500 years old, and more than 5000 that are over 1000 years old. Nothing else in the ancient world comes even close.
If you were logical, you would discount every other source of ancient literature that would contradict the testimony of the New Testament.

Jesus was a common carpenter from an obscure Roman outpost. Why would the Romans care about a person claiming to be a descendent of the Jewish god, even if they thought that it was true? Augustus claimed to be the son of Jupiter, and he was more popular and powerful at the time. Why not talk about him instead?

The only book by a contemporary of Jesus to mention him is the Histories of the Jews; but the sections about Jesus have been proven to be forged.

Thousands followed him but in reality the people who actually knew him were few. Much of what was said about him was filtered out also, so that what we have of historical reference to him is vastly less than what we would have about any one person living since the advent of the computer who has done only one noteworthy thing.

don't forget the gnostic gospels, a few dozen of them mention the man, not that the church tends to recognise this as extra-biblical evidence ;)

Obviously you haven't read the Book of Mormon. This set of scriptures is all about Him and His ministry, centuries before and after His mortal birth.
