Duck hunters use labs all the time in icy waters and they love it. If you can stand the cold, the dog can stand the cold.

Yes but dont leave the dog outside. make sure your dog is not getting sick and is perfect health after you take him for a walk. Make it a short walk as you probably cant take -15 as long as he can. There are other ways for your dog to get his stimulation. Always check there paws for ice and packed snow. If it is to cold outside before the wind chill water will turn to ice and it is possable for your dog to tear a paw which is painful.

I've had 2 labs myself and both loved the cold weather. My one actually figured out how to slide on the ice and did it whenever he could. Labs are built for cold weather otherwise they wouldn't be a hunting breed. Just check for packed ice/snow in their paws when you come in is all.

Walk? Yes, but dont be out for a long time unless it has cold weather gear like a jacket and puppy gloves. Also make sure if you do it every day he isnt getting sick or anything. Just dont leave the dog out, but they need to be outside and sniff around and have some stimulation, its good for them.

Keep it short. Don't take the dog out mid-day when the sun and heat is the worst. I 'll take my dogs out around 4 / 4:30 and then again, late tonight, maybe around 10pm From 11-4, their in the home. It's way to hot for them and me. When you walk him, try to stay on the shady side of the street, bring some water and a small bowl with you. edit: I used to own a black dog and boy did she get hot.

It was -20F here this morning and my dogs went out, did their stuff, and came right back in. Your dog probably does not want to be cold. If you do go, bundle yourself up and make it a short walk!

would your rather have your dog obese and spoiled, or would rather just have her freeze for a little while? I walk my yorkie all the time no matter what the temperature is.
