I had your problem. I wouldn't cut them yourself. You should wait for your hair to grow out and then cut them. What you should do is get some strengthening shampoo or conditioner or both. I use tresemme. It comes in really big bottles so It lasts a really long time. Tresemme anti breakage shampoo and conditioner works really well. You should go and get the strengthening products you need, then use them for a while. About a month or more. Then trim your ends off. This will strengthen your hair ahead of time and give your hair a better chance of preventing split ends. Keep using after you trim the ends off. And to help keep them gone. When you get out of the shower squeeze the water out of your hair with a towel (DO NOT RUB!!! Doing this will cause your hair to break and split!) And when you brush your hair. Gently work the tangles out from bottom to top! Good luck with that!

You can cut them manually with your own scissors, but depending on how many you have, it can take a lllooonnng time. You can try any shampoo/conditoner (NOT the two-in-ones) that is designed for damage control. You should try out that new pantene shampoo/conditioner that, with everyday use, can totally repair your hair within the month. That's only if you're not willing to cut them all off. You can also try to abstain from frequent blow drying..hair straightening or curling..forcefully brushing your hair which causes your hair to break..also dont brush your hair when it's wet because thats when it's most fragile, unless you use a leave-in conditioner.

you could cut your own hair but you could also let a professional tell you what to do. I was told by a hir dresser the other day that when you have split ends it is like going from feeding one child to feeding ten but on the same income. He said that the best thing to do to prevent split ends is to keep your hair balanced and to avoid over styling it. Heat is your hairs enemy, no matter what brand of products you use.

Only way to take care of split ends is to cut them; that's it. Your only option; to prevent them; treat your hair better. Be more gentle. I was told by a hairdresser; if you cut them at home, ie with a razor blade or crappy scissors this will only cause them to split (eventually) even More...go to a professional; their scissors are made to cut hair.

When I used to bleach my hair I got a lot of split ends. I used Infusium 23 on my hair. It worked great. You might want to use thinning shears just on the ares where the split ends are, or you could describe your situation to a hairdresser. I think that would be best.

Hot oil treatments work great on me. Only use it when you desperately need it though because if you use those treatments too regularly, it'll make your hair greasey. You can get VO5 Hot Oil Treatments for $3 or $4 at walmart.
