Because it hasn't
People cause the death of millions.
Those people are either hypocrites or have nothing to do with religion in the first place.
If you seriously believe Hitler was a Christian and setting the example that Jesus set, you've got something horribly wrong.

I thought Christians believed that religion caused a great deal of death. I believe it. I don't believe that the Holocaust never happened, I don't believe that the Spanish inquisition was a folk story, and I think that the Crusaders were just passing themselves off as Christians.

Religion is a man made thing which attempts to secure salvation through man's own devices. Christianity is not religion. Throughout history Christianity has been treated like a religion by the power brokers, the money grubbers, those who would hold sway over the masses. The first false religion began at the rebellion of Satan. This first false religion has caused all the death and suffering that has ever happened. It is the religion of self in all it's forms.
Some day there will only be Truth and lies posing as Truth will no longer exist. Religion is not representative of Christianity.

Of course we believe those things happened. What would I have to gain by denying any of it? But what I find amusing is the amount of people who deny that officially atheist countries, like China and the former Soviet Union, were also responsible for the death of millions.
By the way-you may want to get your information about the Inquisition and the Crusades from something other than the movies. The Inquisition killed around 5000,and the Crusades were retaliation to centuries of Muslim oppresion and rule. And you might be interested to know that Hitler was not a Christian,he called Christianity the invention of 'sick minds' and said that he wanted to rid the world of it.

Because they assume that "religion" can be separated out from the acts that men commit under its influence. Hence you can dismiss every kind of atrocity that's ever been perpetrated in the name of Jesus: "Those men didn't understand the True Word of God." Never mind that such atrocities have been the standard for practically the entire course of the religion's existence.
It's just as if I started a modern "Nazi" organization but insisted that all that antisemitic stuff under Hitler was a "misinterpretation," and that nobody should judge MY organization based on that precedent. Anybody with the least iota of actual moral sense ought to be embarrassed by the very term "Christian." It ought to fester in the mouth like a vicious epithet.

There could have been 11 Commandments. The final one being Do As I Say, no longer As I Do. and you are the superb option. faith has led to extra suffering than the rest in mankind's historic past. when I see or hear a man or woman conversing approximately faith I at present walk any opposite direction. they're the two nut situations or severe issue.

Yes. Many millions have been killed in the name of God and for the sake of religion.
How many, however, have been killed in the name of its antithesis, atheism?
How many millions have died at the hands of Stalin, Mao, and Castro? More or fewer than in the Inquisition, or the Holocaust?

SOME "Christians" think a lot of things. You have asked a loaded question. To paraphrase a common idea, The world is full of terrible things caused by good men with good intentions. Religion has caused a great many deaths. No one who is honest with himself can really dispute this. The part of the question that is unfair is your implication that religion is the same thing as Christianity, and that Christians as a whole ( those who know Christ personally, and truly seek to obey) have to answer for and be held responsible for the actions of thsoe who would call themselves Christians even while they do things that break the very heart of God. If I was to call myself your brother ( though I obviously am not) and go around killing people, would it be fair of people to call your family killers? Of course not! You know your family, you know I am not one of them, and you know they are not killers. I know my God, I know those who kill in his name are not of his Family, and I know He is not to blame.

Most say that those that killed in the name of their religion were not really members of their religion.
I find this funny, because a large portion of the deaths causes were from the direct church itself. These people aren't really members of the Christian religion, but they have no problem associating radical Muslims to the religion of Islam every chance they get.
I'm not a Muslim, it is just something that assumes me a little.

Because they are in denial. If this world never knew RELIGION of any type there would be at least a 80% decrease in hostilities around the globe.... after all what would be left to fight about?? i'll tell you.... peanut butter & jelly sandwiches VS fluff & jelly sandwiches :)

Religion is a concept that goes far beyond Christianity. Therefore, some kind of religion has caused or been part of all the deaths on this planet.
Those in doubt should use a dictionary.
