The ans from Sony is that you can't delete photos from computer via CyberShot. After downloading photos from camera to computer into CyberShot, deleting can't be done from CyberShot Web. Photos can be deleted from computer once they're moved to say Wizard or somethig else. My dilema though is once photos are moved from CyberShot, most of my info is lost such as shutter speed, aperture, focal length, image size etc.

Wow, that Sony software sounds as sucky as the Kodak and Nikon software that I've used myself in the past.
I've switched to ACDSee for browsing. I've heard great things about Google's free Picasa software too (it also does simple editing tasks).
If the Sony software won't let you move/ delete pictures, just do it from the Windows Explorer (or similar). And don't worry about losing the exposure settings, etc. This information is all stored as exif data in the individual jpg files. This is how the Sony software knows what's what, and all other viewing software can also read & display the exif information.

I am not following...

Are you asking HOW to delete photos from the memory of your camera or from the computer?

You can control the content of the memory card of the camera FROM the computer but you cannot control the content of your computer's hard disk from the camera.

The camera is not a valid controller of a computer.

As for the data being lost- shouldn't be. I have the cybershot and all the data is embedded INTO the photo's data file and is pretty much "safe".

You may find that the problem is that the programme you are using to edit your photos is not capable of recalling them.

Perhaps you could explain a bit more?
