I think Craigslist is a great place to find cars - It's free, so a lot of people advertise on there. but no matter where you look on the internet, you NEED to have a carfax account before you even test drive a car if you're not buying it from a dealership. even if you are buying from somewhere they pay to advertise, like Autotrader or eBay. It costs $25 for an unlimited month of searching with Carfax, but trust me, it's worth every penny. i almost bought a rebuilt but thankfully i ran a background check and probably saved myself a lot of future hassle.

I sold my honda accord on Craig's list. I would make sure you go out and test drive it and have a mechanic look at it before you purchase any car. I would also recommend using carfax.com to get a vehicle history, and make sure the odometer hasn't been rolled back.
Good luck!

Good site.... but too many scammers and unscrupulous sellers selling junk.

I'd actually trust ebay and Autotrader.com more since they have to pay to advertise, which the scammers rarely do.

It's a good place, you're more likely to find private sellers.
