I have been enjoying WMP for a few months now. I have installed a plug-in (DFX) to enhance the sound. WMP indeed sounded better after installation. But now, WMP deos not exit completely. When I click Exit, WMP disappears, but it keeps playing in the background. This applies to either music or videos. To close it completely, I had to use the "Windows Task Manager" to end the process. Annoying huhh!! Anyway, I uninstalled and then installed both WMP and the DFX plug-in. And finally I Uninstalled the DFX plug-in totally. I still encountered the same problem with WMP. I even rolled back to WMP 10, but same problem existed. I cleaned up my registry from any broken files/instructions regarding DFX & WMP prior to the Uninstallation process. No such luck! Please help!

My advise...
You sound quite capable on a system so forgive me if you have tried all of the following:

↓ Completely remove the application from your system via Add / Remove programmes and then re download Media Player V.11 from http://www.microsoft.com

↓ Right - Hand click the top grey bar on Media Player to bring up a small list.
Select Tools and then Options. Ensure that playback will stop once switching user and all other applications by removing the tick present in the box. If the tick is already missing this is not a problem.

↓ Consult the Media Player Online help

↓ Contact Microsoft to report a bug / Error

Hope this helps in some way

living house windows Media participant may be downloaded from the Microsoft information superhighway web site. I actually have merely offered an Acer computer which got here with an Acer media participant already put in. I uninstalled that and put in living house windows Media participant in it is position. And that change into very last week. so that you fairly CAN receive it from Microsoft.

media player does this kind of crap when you play with it. if you want it to change, you need to upgrade to WMP 11. and no Im not a plant. it just works better (and its prettier too!), but really, you cant do anything about it as far as that goes. i had the same problem until I upgraded, and i didnt even do anything with the thing, it just started to do it on its own.

dfx was a poorly written sound enhancement program, what I had to do was reload my computer to get rid of it!
