the smell of the candle shouldn't hurt your puppy. I will warn you though, the smell might attract the puppy to it and they might be tempted to try to eat it and chew it. I would try to keep all scented candles places where the puppy can't get to it.

we have two dogs who are now 7 months old who are now trained, and we use scented candles-----but please be fire smart and have them up and away from wagging tails and curious noses, we keep our scented candles on the kitchen table and wall unit in living room, while we where training our pupies we used "scent stories" or a auto spray by glade just a few ideas if you wanted a nice smell in your home,

I burn candles all the time with my pup, like with children keep up high and make sure the wick is not made with lead. Also dogs don't like citronella ( outside candles)

No, I burn candles quite a bit and it doesn't hurt them. Just don't smoke in the house, and you'll be fine! :)
