I live in a small room with a kitchen. Dishes are not done. They have been there for a week or so. Clothes are spread across the floor from one side of the room to the other. Paper is clutered everywhere on the floor. Everywhere I look I see empty food packets and open drink bottles. On the floor I can even identify cutlery. Don't mention the smell from the bins-that have been there for ages. Don't mention my sink counter- probably a bacterial breeding ground. My bedlinen hasn't been washed for-I don't know how long.

oh. I don't want to live like this! Please give me your life or tell me how to turn 180 degrees!

Sounds like you need a good anti-depressant. Make an appt. with a counselor. Tell yourself your not going to live that way anymore and clean up your act. Get some excersize and get the blood pumping again, you'll feel better and that way you'll have more energy to get things done. I was diagnosed as depressed a couple years ago, I had no energy whatsoever and would just stay in bed for days at a time. I finally decided it was time to do something about it. I mad an appt with the psychologist and she was able to help me determine why I was so depressed. Along with counseling and a mild anti-depressant, I was soon back to myself again. Of course there are still times when I feel down, but that is normal and nothing like it was before. Please make an appt. It is for your own good. Good luck to you. Prayers are with you.

Well my family does have a tendency to go this way so I can just tell you what I do. If you've got any friends ask them for help--they might just come on over and help you put order to your life starting with the apartment! If you are determined to "do it alone." Set a timer of some sort and just pick a few things up for like 10 minutes. Or determine that you're going to pick up 10 things. Then take a small break and then start over again. It is too overwhelming to just say--I'm going to clean up this whole place right now. Do it a piece at a time. I would start by taking out the trash bins. After they are empty you have a place to put the new trash you are going to throw away. Clear out the sink so that you have a place for dirty dishes only. I am willing to bet there are things other than dirty dishes in there! Bed linen and laundry things can come towards the last. They are a nice trip out of the house to the laundromat for washing and folding.

Of course this is a mental health issue. If you can get started on cleaning up your place you can get started on anything. If you try but just give up then seek some professional help a simple anti-depressant medication might give you the perk you need to start going again.

Good Luck!

You sound like you may be depressed. So you need to speak to a professional and if your not depressed then you obviously don't like house work. Then you need to make up your mind to get up and get it all cleaned up and then day to day make a choice and the effort to keep it that way. Personally I can't stand messes or clutter of any kind , it just creates chaos and I can't stand chaos.
