i say soil becouse it is a procces of waste matter and grass becouse it is a plant/weed that consumes minerals

grass didn't actually eveolve until relatively recently- in the times of the dinosaurs grass didnt exist, ferns covered most of the forest floors.
Soil will have formed long before that, from dead organisms and ground up rocks.

Soil, not that it grows! Soil comes from weathering of rock and organic material from early colonisers like mosses. Eventually grass moves in when there's enough soil. Though not always - marjam grass grows in sand - no soil so that's definitely first! :)

Soil as far as I know consists of decayed vegetable matter so it is thought by scientists that lichens were here first. Soil was produced from weathered rock and decayed lichens before grass grew.

i say grass, see because grass can grow in cotton wool etc. too.

soil is made up of dead and plants and animals, so the dead grass. it is just waste matters.

soil does not grow it is naturally occuring hence the reason old gravestones seem to sink into the ground.

grass needs water and soil
