I'm a mother of 3 and haven't worn shorts or a bathing suit in over 8 years. I would love to change that this summer but desperately need some help. I'm not overweight but I gained all of my baby weight in my thighs and butt. Can anyone give me some exercises that target my problem areas and even some healthy eating tips? I have a huge sweet tooth and am trying to cut back on caffeine as well but it's tougher than I thought.

All my weight goes to my thighs and butt too. If you go to a gym, use a stairclimber or an elliptical machine. Otherwise, you can do the same at home... just walk up and down your stairs. When it gets warmer out, get outside and walk up hills and stairs. There are little things you can do throughout the day too such as walking up and down the stairs instead of using the elevator. Drink lots of water; sometimes when you're feeling hungry it's because you need water, not food.

As for targeting the abs, the walking will help and also, start doing crunchs, and stretch! Stretching is a great! If you can get yourself into a yoga class, that'd be great too. It's good for strengthing your body, toning, and since it does involve meditation, it makes for a healthy mind as well.

You said you have children. If they are younger, go outside with them and just play. Go to the park, play on the swings, or whatever they like to do. You could go for family bike rides too. Basically, find active activities you can do with your kids. Not only will it help you physically and mentally, but you'll be building a wonderful relationship with your children that will last a lifetime. They will always remember that.

go to a local exerise place and and sign up. or try to figure out how to get 30 minutes out of your scheldue and do jumping jacks and run in place followed by a joggging around your living room. THe best way is to go outside and run or bring out a jump rope.
