any tips on how to make a guy do what you want, and getting all dressed up for him doesnt work. but i want my man to stop smoking, any suggestions?

Tell him you are not going to date or marry a smoker, as of April 1. If he is still a smoker (has smoked a cigarette within 30 days) on April 1, you will not date him anymore.
BUT then follow through.
You can't bribe him. He either will or will not quit. This one is OK to force with an ultimatum.

I was a smoker for more years than I care to admit. It is BOTH a habit (easy enuf to break) and an addiction. The Betty Ford Center for addicts, alcoholics, etc. will tell you that the nicotine addiction is more difficult to break than a heroin addiction. He can't and won't break it for you. In order to quit, he must be able to look into the mirror and truthfully (you cannot successfully lie to yourself) say that he'll always want to smoke, but today he wants to quit worse - and then say it again tomorrow and the next day!

You need to decide how important this is to you. If he doesn't quit will you leave him? Also does he want to quit? If you are willing to leave him then you should say that if he doesn't quit that you are done and stick to it and follow through with it. If that is not how you feel then you need to see if he even want to quit in the first place. That is a very hard thing to do and if he doesn't want to quick then he won't do it just for you. If he does then help him though all his ups and downs and failed attempts. He will get there with your support.

I guess you have a lot to learn places change people don't if you think you can change him by nagging on him it might work ,but it will come back & haunt you later.
If you want obedience get a dog. Best idea find one that has your ideals. Then you won't have to try changing him.

Tell him to stop or you're going to get a guy who doesn't smoke. I'd rather kiss an ash tray then to kiss my wife if she smoked. She knows this.

He won't stop smoking until he's ready. Unless you love him enough to wait for him to do it, break up with him now. Go find someone you like for themselves and stop trying to change people.

Just let him know that your breathing in the smoke he is blowing out
also that he is smoking rat poisen and de-icer and about 3,000more chemicals

if you don't smoke ask him to lick an ashtray to see what it's like kissing him.
that is if you do. it's about the same, i've been there
