My daughter will be 10 in April and I'd like to have her get this, but the cost is over $300 if Tricare doesn't cover it. Also, my husband is a retired Marine, does anyone know if the bases are giving them? We're an hour from McDill in Tampa.

They say between ages 9-26 is the right time to get it. I work for an insurance company that covers it. I would be surprised if Tricare did not cover it.

She's too young to get it. They give it to girls around 12-13. Please talk to her pediatrician. If he says yes (I would be very surprised) then you can call Tricare and find out if they will cover it. They are trying to make this vaccine a must by law. When that happens most insurance companies will cover at least part of it.
