mri is a piece of cake. nothing to worry about. keep your cell phone out of the room . dress comfortably .you cannot have anything metal on for the mri.the machine uses magnets. I have had a few done for my back .relax. sometimes they have headphones with music for you.
it actually made me feel better than I did before I went in. But remember, no single test shows everything. oh yes the noise is like a barrel of rocks being shaken.

I was nervous when I had my first MRI too. They are a little intimidating, the machine is HUGE, but it is the safest form of inner-body imaging that we have today. Safer than an X-Ray because x-rays are high concentrations of radioactive waves being shot through your body. Getting an MRI exposes your body only to magnetic fields, which don't cause cancer. The best way to stop the nerves (from my own personal experience) is to sit in your car before you go in, and SCREAM YOUR FREAKING HEAD OFF and wave your fists around and bounce in your seat, if anyone passes by your car, they should think that you have just switched off your sanity (because you have for a few moments...) Go absolutely ape-**** for at least 10 seconds, and when you are done, you will most likely laugh for a little bit, then take a deep breath and you will feel GREAT. Believe me, it is a very effective nerve diffuser.

No reason to be scared, the worst part is the noise from the machine and you have to stay really still, which was hard for me, my legs involuntarily tremble. As for the noise, I just concentrated on remembering my children, their birthdays and things like that to try to block the noise.
Hope this helps
