Plastic wrap works better than both of these. The cold frigid air can worm it's way around the papers and then ultimately to the food for freezer burn. But it is harder to penetrate the plastic.
Only really needed for extended times in the freezer.(more than 2 months.)

Any ziplock bags works for me and I have tried them all. Now I just shop for price, especially if it is only for a few days. But I think ziplock has freezer bags. I happened to get a free case where I work. I just put the chicken parts half cooked, get the air out, and then freeze. Good for 5 days for me. And there is no good way to cook with freezer burn. If that happens with my chicken I just throw it away. That is why I use the sealer, last year, I did not throw away, ONE PIECE OF FOOD. I look at the money I saved from the previous year throwing food away all the time. I used vacuum pack if it will stay more than 3 days. I bought the cheap sealer as I did not want the more expensive one that will seal containers too as I have not use for that. The sealer paper is really not that much versus an expensive freezer bag. FYI, check out the price of the bags and paper you use in a month. Then check the price for the sealer paper. Like me, you will be in for a big surprise. But like advice I ever give, no one listens, so I say find out and you will never go back to the dark side. lol

Freezer burn is nothing more than dehydration.

Butcher paper will work, but if you over wrap the butcher paper with plastic wrap it will keep even longer.

Yes...butcher paper is for wrapping to take home only...its designed to prevent a certain amount of bleed thru until you get home....
