I found some great ones that are only like $30!!!!!

Sure www.gkelite.com and http://www.tidewaterice.com/ have some under $50. To be specific:

look on this page, some of the gk ones are pretty cute and there are a few from 45-50 dollars: http://www.tidewaterice.com/gk_elite_skating_dresses.htm
and some of these are ONLY $30!!!: http://www.tidewaterice.com/sale_items.htm

And these dresses some of them are only $30!!!
go to www.gk-elitesportswear.com, then click on figure skating, and on the sale pages

And I know what you're talking about, my mom used to make me find dresses for under $60, and until I found these sites I had the hardest time

ebay!!! believe it or not but this is actually a really good place to find skating dresses for reasonable prices. Several girls from my skating club have bought and sold nice dresses on ebay. Its really easy if you already know what size and style you like best, and work the best with your program. If this isnt an option then see if anyone you know has a dress you could borrow or buy off of them. good luck

To tell you the truth, if you want dresses under 50 dollars, Ebay is a good way. But I wouldn't recomend it, at least personally. I've been figure skating for 7 years, and I've seen that a dress really brings out personality and 'pizazz' to a program, if you have practiced it enough!
But if you have practiced enough and think that you can pull it off without caring about the dress, it shouldn't matter.

My mom is the same way. First look at the skating stores near you.It might be hard depending on what state you live in. In NC there are only 3 in Wake County I suggest It Figures they also have a website.
Another alternative is to bye a plain color dress and add gems and stuff yourself it will be a lot cheaper.
