Hi, I just had an eye test today and I had no problem seeing with my left eye (20/20), but my right eye was absolutely terrible (70/20). Everything was so blurry and I could barely make out the 3rd row of letters! Together, with both eyes open, I have 20/20 vision.

I take the test every year and I pass with 20/20... What could have caused such a dramatic change in just a few months?

Could this be some kind of serious eye condition? I'm going to the doctor in a few days but I just wanted to know...

A lot of times one eye is always weaker then the other and the strong eye picks up the slack for the weaker eye. Even though you just notice it now it could have been going on for a long time or has just started to go down in vison quality. I don't think anything is seriously wrong. Good luck hope this helps

Your doing right by going to the Dr.
There could a bunch of different causes so don't worry yourself and let the Dr. tell you because all of us will be guessing and you don't need to worry or you'll wind up with more than an eye problem. Good Luck.
P.S. I only wear one contact

Do you have diabetes in your family? It is in my family and on both sides. I do have diabetes and also have my eyes checked every year. Last year before my check up, when I would be on the computer I would see split images like they make you see at the eye exam, when I went for my exam they had no reason for why my eyes were seeing double images when working on the computer.

Hope this helps.
