We got our first tv set in the late 1940's - very small screen, very large cabinet, all tubes. Took several minutes to warm up. Everything was done by hand - the channel knob clicked to the channel.

In the 50's, someone came up with a remote that was basically a long stick with a claw, so you could change the channel without getting up from your chair. As children we use to like to sit up close, so we could change the channel easily. But there were only three or four channels, so it wasn't a big deal.

Bring back bunny ears and that weird hoop antena!!!! I miss the old loud clicking 2-13 dial and the fast clicking 18(??) through 64 dial!!!! Man!!! You would just wrench on that 18-64 dial when going from 62 to 20!!! Or how about the old 'remote' that was hard wired to the computer and had push buttons that stayed down and popped the previous channel button up when a new one was pushed!!! Heaven!!! (Just don't trip on the wire!)

Um, TV of course. When black & white first came out, there were no remotes. Remotes became very popular and were used on most new televisions in the 80's. I can see why your name is I don't know about much.

TV came first cuz without the TV we would have no need for the remote.

Obviously you were born outside of the 70's. You used to have to get up and change the channel.

TV. They used to use knob to change channel, and there use to be only 3 channels.
