do you have a desing in mind? if so show it to your parents, explain to them just what you said here. also if you tell them you'll pay to have it done & will have it put somewhere where no one will automatically notice (ex.neck, lower arm) but would like to get it where it could be covered with clothes (ex.shoulder area, pectoral area, upperleg). hopefully they'll see it as a tribute to the loved ones lost. also it is kinda sneaky but ask for it as a special 16th birthday or christmas present. also think long and hard on the design, maybe even ask there opinion on which would look better. check out the tattoo studios before hand. find one that is reputable and clean
i have a cross on my back right shoulder. it has 3 roses on it. one for my dad,who died 2 weeks before my 2nd
b-day( i can't even remember him),one for a family friend who was like a dad to me. the 3rd is for my cousin who was killed in a paramedic ambulance wreck in 1976 in florida

So are you getting it just to get a tattoo or to genuinely remember individuals that you've never met? I may get a thumbs down for this but since you've never met the family members that were killed (i'm very sorry for your family's loss on this)...then what are memorializing? Even at 16, you need parental permission and not all places will even do that. If you really want to get it, I would just wait until you're 18 and then do it on your own accord. That's only 3 more years. Not that long if you think about it since the tattoo is on you for life. No, I am not against tattoos, I have one myself...but I think that if it's that important, you could probably wait that extra 2 years. Plus, you're not even done growing yet and so there's a chance that your tattoo will become disfigured because you grew.

I am 23 and have two tattoos, one i had done when i was 16 - and hate it now. I would have given anything to wait till i was mature enough to choose something worthwhile. Best advice i can give you, and followed with my next tattoo was to wait at least a year - and if i still wanted the same tattoo i went through with it. Your parents, regardless of whether they like tattoos or not - just dont want you to regret it.. trust us all dude!

dude. you have alot of livin left to do. wait till you're 18 then it isn't up to them. you will probly have changed your mind on the actual art to depict the memorial or the place to put it. also you aren't done growing so there may be some stretching or deformation of the art by the time you are 21. trust me as a tattoo artist. this is the same thing i would tell you in a tattoo shop even if you were waving 500 bucks in my face and your mom was there sayin do it. sorry bro, but wait.

You can try sitting down with them and explaining how important it is to you to honor these family members, but know that most places won't tattoo anyone under 18, some will at 16 with a parent's permission, but at 15 years old, it would hard, if not impossible, to find some place willing to do it, even if your parents agree.

so what is the reason that you can't wait until you old enough to get one legally? in most states you can't get a tattoo at 15 even with parental permission. some states have an age limit of 18. i think you should wait. i waited to get mine and i acutally wish i had waited longer so i could have made more informed decisions about what i was getting and by who.

You have your WHOLE life to get a tatto. You might as well just wait until you are older. Getting a tatto when you are young is pretty imature, because you go through SO MANY emotional and physical changed at that age, that most if not ALL people who get tatts early regret it. I got mine ON my 18th birthday and so far I still live it (5 years later). Just take your parents advice, they are NOT trying to be cruel, they're just looking out for you. It's worht the wait, so just be patient and focus on how great it is to be 15 (no job, no responsabilities, no taxes, no bills). REJOICE!!!

Just ask them about it and explain why you want the tattoo done as you have to us here. If they say no, then you'll need to wait until you're 18 to get it. If you really want it then it's worth waiting 3 years to get it done at a reputable shop.

just be honest with them about it. tell them how important it is to you. keep in mind that you are way too young to get a tat without parent permission. sooo if they are set against it WAIT! perfect your design and talk to a few artists. By the time you come of age you will KNOW for sure what you really want to do.
