The New Testament consist of
four biographies of the live Jesus
one history of the first generation of Christians
13 letters written by the apostle Paul to early Christian churches
8 additional letters written by other apostles to early churches
And the book of Revelation
All were written after the resurrection of Jesus. Kind of hard to write about the death and resurrection of a person still alive, or tell the later history of his followers, and to write letters to his churches before there were any church.
As we still have existing copies of all the books of the New Testament that date with 60 years of his life (one as early as within 17 years of the date the book was written) they all have to had existed within that time period.

Its a fascinating question which raises millions others. I myself have some curiosity about it.
All Gospels were written at least 60 yrs after Jesus and several came into existence 200--300 years after. Churh in those time chose only 4 gospels but what about others? How one is more credible than other? How can one remember exact words even after 30-60 years? I can't remeber exact words of a conversation after fews days. If those were helped by God then why one Gospel is so different from another on some fundamental issues? Could it be true that true teachings of Jesus were already lost and later christians did something close to mythical story writting according to different times and needs? This would explain better the so many differnces in different Gospels and even within Bible.

There are more than 24,000 partial and complete manuscript copies of the New Testament. These manuscript copies are very ancient and they are available for inspection NOW. there are also some 86,000 quotations from the early church fathers and several thousand lectionaries (church-service books containing Scripture quotations used in the early centuries of Christianity). In fact, there are enough quotations from the early church fathers that even if we did not have a single copy of the Bible, scholars could still reconstruct all but 11 verses of the entire New Testament from material written within 150 to 200 years from the time of Christ. Bottom line: The New Testament has an overwhelming

The New Testament was wriiten in the first century AD with the book of Revelation being the last penned somewhere between 90-100 AD the gospels may have been written during the life of Christ...with the exception of Luke but all were completed after he ascended.
Just a thought...He lives in us. You could say He was here during the writing process. However, I think you meant here alive. Most Christians believe the Bible is inscripurated revelation from God to humans, written through the vehicle of men filled with the spirit of God.

Best estimates are that the earliest works of the new testament were written no earlier than about 30 years AFTER Jesus' death.

it was written at different intervals after the death and resurrection. was he still on earth? if you believe in the trinity then you could say yes,as god is everywhere and all things are made possible through him. the first book of the n.t was written around 45 a.d and the last around 100 a.d, in 397 the catholic church decided the canon of the bible and placed all the inspired books all together. the cathoic bible and protestant share the same new testament books but vary on the old testament regarding seven books.

The gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) were written after Jesus died (especially considering the fact that they relate Jesus' death), and were written before any of the other NT books. I don't have the numbers right here in front of me (I'm at work), but it would be years after.

It was written after. Revelations was written when John was the last apostle. They couldn't write about Jesus's death and ressurection if he wasn't already crusified. The Acts are the establishment of the early church by the apostles after Jesus was crucified. The events that take place during Jesus's life were after his death as recalled and inspired by God.

Shorty after he died, the latest being about 90 AD, and the earliest about 35 AD.
Whether it was literally 'written' while he was alive is unknown, but the gospels were compiled and completed in those dates.

Well, the Gospels were written by eye witnesses, but after Jesus had died.
It was all pretty much written afterwards.
