Well who's wedding is this? Your friend who has the step mom?
Anyhow, I don't think that it is really your place to just say that your friend's step mom's outfit isn't appropriate. I'm not disagreeing with you-I would think that it is OK to wear a fitted dress to a wedding but not one with a plunging neckline.
The best way to approach the problem is to realize that we all have different views on what we think is modest and what we think isn't modest.
With that said, try to ignore it. Don't show any attention at all to th dress. At the wedding, when people are dressed up nicely and stuff, your friend's step mom will see that maybe she is standing out from the crowd and will be embarrassed. Then she'll make a mental note to next time make the neckline a little higher or so for weddings and other special events like that.
'Hope I helped!!!

I think anything that takes away from the bride is inappropriate. Is black part of the theme of the wedding ? Maybe that dress would be better for the rehearsal dinner or an after party... wearing black to someones wedding is tacky ( unless it is part of the wedding theme) Another things is, if your friend doesn't care that she wearing it then let it be...

Honestly..... stupid. Its not your place to say anything. The black dress is appropriate in any situation morning, noon or night. Its classic and lends respectability and can never be faulted. Years from now when poeple look at the pictures people will think that she had some class for the occasion no matter what. Not flip flops and a sundress. Someday when you grow up you will get the idea, not only in dress but how people are.

Well i think you should respect her decision, and her style, and indivisuality. She is old enough to know what she likes and what she feels comfy in. IF she has no sense of style what so ever like myself, ha! Then, you might want to go by and ask her what she is going to wear, and in a friendly way suggest she would look prettier in a softer color.. or so.
But if anything, let her be herself. That doesn't make her a bad person or changes her personality. I'm sure she is a great girl! :)
I just wish people would stop judging people by their appearence, but of course, their is also truth in what type of people will approach you, depending on how you carry yourself, and how you dress.. oh well, can't win them all, huh? lol

How is this your problem? Do nothing, because it's none of your business. She can wear whatever she wants (that's legal), if she's not embarrassed, why should you be? Make sure you get it on with her behind the wedding cake.

Leave it alone, I wear black to a lot of weddings. Let her feel sexy once in a while.

It doesn't sound bad for an outdoor wedding. It will be hot. But a lighter color would not attract the sun as much and be more festive,
