Muslims attempt to justify his lude acts of pedophilia, mass murder, and thievery, but nobody can justify those. Muhammad is supposedly the paradigm for all mankind which is a joke.

You cant justify beating you wife:

Sura 4:34: Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in their sleeping places and **beat them**; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.

You cant justify sex slaves:
Sura 33:50 O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those **whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war** whom Allah has assigned to thee; and daughters of thy paternal uncles and aunts, and daughters of thy maternal uncles and aunts, who migrated (from Makka) with thee; and any believing woman who dedicates her soul to the Prophet if the Prophet wishes to wed her;- this only for thee, and not for the Believers (at large); We know what We have appointed for them as to their wives and the captives whom their right hands possess;- in order that there should be no difficulty for thee. And Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.

You cant justify killing disbelievers in an extremely cruel fashion:
Sura 5:33: "Those who make war with Allah and his messenger will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. That is how they will be treated in this world, and in the next they will have an awful doom."

etc.....

Buddhist here who studied Islam in great depth for MANY years, in and outside of the "education system" (for those who require a brain pan comparison): I'd say that Muhammad's actions were justified socially and locally for the causes and conditions he was born into and for that era. He seems quite intelligent, whether he was illiterate or not (this argument is still sadly waged in some circles), and brought his people out of the Jahiliya in a manner that wasn't too extreme given the circumstances.

"Moral" and "divine" are mental constructs that depend on the perception of the person wielding the terms. I prefer to use a balanced approach that doesn't pass judgement using these terms... and my opinion on him is that he was pretty darn smart. He took the circumstances surrounding him, according to his ability (whether divinely inspired or not), and turned the society around for the "better" for that time and place. ONE example: People want to chant anti-Muslim epithets about how "downtrodden" the women are, but yet he IMPROVED their lot compared to their previous existence. Something to think about.

I sugest you 2 factions get guns meet in some desert and fight it out to the death.. either way I cant loose .. I cant stand either to tell the truth.. but the muslims are less pushy personaly to me..

Muslims have no basis to portray Muhammed's treachery and violence against Medinan Jews as self-defense.

None of the major and minor biblical prophets - from Isaiah and Jeremiah to Malachi - are known to have used sword.

We can hardly expect a body of scripture coming so violent a prophet to inspire peace and harmony.

However, I believe that the majority of Muslims do not want to harm non-muslims.

Muhammad (pbuh) was a great prophet of God. His character was excellent. What you wrote is absolutely false. I suggest reading about him from reliable sources, to clarify your misconceptions. He came from a place and time where there was a lot of bad things happening (people burrying alive their baby daughters, slavery, etc...), and he changed everything around for the better (by God's will). Islam is the fastest-growing religion, no matter how people try to distort the truth!

The Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) never did anything like this! If this ludacris statement were true, why would so many people follow such a man? Whoever told you this was obviously lying. Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) was a man of peace. If you don't believe me, just read about him. You'll never understand where people came up with these ubsurd statements.
Hope this helps you understand Islam more!

Well if you stop following www.faithfreedom.com, You would get a better idea about muhammad personlity !!! He was true prophet with great moral and charator ! I read an artical about Muhammad (Pbuh) in the eyes of non-muslims......given by one of my friends....... Muhammad (pbuh) is not what have been told you peoples in those crap sites which are uploaded to misguide peoples agaisnt islam. pasting something from that artical !

.James A. Michener

"Muhammad, the inspired man who founded Islam, was born about A.D. 570 into an Arabian tribe that worshipped idols. Orphaned at birth, he was always particularly solicitous of the poor and needy, the widow and the orphan, the slave and the downtrodden. At twenty, he was already a successful businessman, and soon became director of camel caravans for a wealthy widow. When he reached twenty-five, his employer, recognizing his merit, proposed marriage. Even though she was fifteen years older, he married her, and as long as she lived, remained a devoted husband.

"Like almost every major prophet before him, Muhammad fought shy of serving as the transmitter of God's word, sensing his own inadequacy. But the angel commanded "Read." So far as we know, Muhammad was unable to read or write, but he began to dictate those inspired words which would soon revolutionize a large segment of the earth: "There is one God."

"In all things Muhammad was profoundly practical. When his beloved son Ibrahim died, an eclipse occurred, and rumours of God's personal condolence quickly arose. Whereupon Muhammad is said to have announced, "An eclipse is a phenomenon of nature. It is foolish to attribute such things to the death or birth of a human being." "At Muhammad's own death an attempt was made to deify him, but the man who was to become his administrative successor killed the hysteria with one of the noblest speeches in religious history: "If there are any among you who worshipped Muhammad, he is dead. But if it is God you worshipped, He lives forever."

(James A. Michener, "ISLAM: THE MISUNDERSTOOD RELIGION," in READER'S DIGEST (American edition), May 1955, pp. 68-70.

Edit :
I responce to the first answer !! Well thanx for giving the detailed verses......this punshment is for disloyal wives and beating should be very light... after using all fair means to convince them to follow the right path....it is better than divorcing the lady and effecting the lives of children...Well when a kid goes wrong ,the father slap him to get back from that wrong thing instead of encouraging him....and this is what we all do for our loved ones...I m sure you would not like to reward your wife with love and buck up her when she cheats on you .would you??
The second verse is already been answered in my pasted qoute ~
And third verse tells clearly that fight those who fight to you, so our fights are defensive !
2.190] And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits
[2:193] You may also fight them to eliminate oppression, and to worship GOD freely. If they refrain, you shall not aggress; aggression is permitted only against the aggressors
