Technically, Most airlines don't allow that. HOWEVER... If you make sure you have your flash OFF, and you are sittin in a window seat, you can take some AMAZING PICS. Most people will not even say anything ESPECIALLY as long as you aren't using a cell phone cam or anythin' - know what I mean? There is no proof that any frequency from your cam can cause ANY operational issues, so don't worry about that either.........

I took some AWESOME pics from a plane during an early morning trip and got a pic of the sun shining - with the moon still out just above the clouds. It looks AWESOME!!!!!

Have fun!

P.S - It is best if you manage to snap your pics BEFORE they serve any beverages - as doing it in front of a flight attendant would not the the greatest idea. But - the worse thing they can do is ask you not to use it. You won't get in trouble unless you were to refuse or something......... It's no big deal....

You can. I just got back from Phoenix AZ two days ago and used mine...for work purposes. I work for an airline.

The key is that use the flash if you are taking pictures inside the cabin. You need to turn the flash off to take pictures of the outside because it will glare off the window and you will only get a bright white picture.

I went to Vegas a couple of months ago and on the plane the asked that you dont take pictures(or use any cell phones, or MP3 players) during take off and landing. But while you taxi and are in air the camera's & MP3'a are ok. Cell Phones are a no-no in air!!!
I would turn the flash off for pictues out the window!

There are no FAA regulations that I know of that prohibit flash photography on airplanes. However, if your flash disturbs your fellow passengers, the flight attendants may ask you refrain from using your flash. Federal regulations require that you follow the instructions of flight attendants during your flight.

yes you can but I don't know If the flight attentants will like it if you do it while take off or landing because all electronic devices must be turned off, but they won't see you because they will be in their safety seats in the back of the airplane.
