I was told that many games run "faster" on vista, but I'm not sure about that. I'm pretty happy with XP. I've backed up my C: drive and played with Vista for a short time, but I couldn't do something I usually do, so I tossed it and re-applied my xp image.
I just see no reason for it. All my stuff works just fine with XP.
I have a nice, slimmed down version of XP too... it's 180megs.
I might wait until someone releases a nice, trimmed-down version of Vista as well. :) I like running a light OS so that I have more memory for games.

Wait 6 months to a year. I suspect Microsoft is already working on Service Pack #1 for Vista.

I have Vista on my computer. It's pretty good, I guess. The biggest downside to it is the amount of system resources it uses. I don't need my operating system to use 512 MB of RAM. It's unnecessary. If you have a computer that can handle Vista as well as any other memory-hogging programs, then go for it. Otherwise, I don't think it's worth upgrading from XP at this point.

I'm not sure. If it was just my computer I would, as I can adapt but my computer is shared by my dad and he's a bit clueless. In my opinion, Windows are trying to be Mac, so if you want that, get a Mac and an up to date software package. You'd have to buy a computer again anyway to have the right specs (well, 9 times out of 10).

No frigging way. My machine came with XP, I'm sticking with XP until I get my next PC. Rumor is Vista needs at least 2Gb of RAM, which is why I suspect you see Dell/HP etc.. pushing the 2Gb upgrades for the last 3 months and giving away 250Gb hard drives. I'm staying right where I am.

I have heard from most people that it is really cool and much better than old programs but I did have one individual tell me that it is the basically the same as the other programs.
I don't have it but I am interested in getting it. I just hope that they have all the bugs worked out of it.

I'll wait until 2009, when the tech support for XP ends.......
it's slower than XP, great features, but not for me YET.

All it is is a cheap ripoff of OS X for Mac. It doesn't even work as well as OS X. Get a Mac instead. Once you go Mac, you never go back!
