Isaiah 53:2b, "he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him."

He also had a beard and the hands of a woodworker because he was a carpenter.

by using fact Jewish sensibilities on no account believed in glorifying the actual component of folk. in case you study the bible you will see this is consistent in no longer giving actual descriptions of persons. the only actual descriptions given are persons that would desire to provide them vast distinction related to the message given. as a effect, Jacob replaced into delicate-skinned together as Esau replaced into hirsute. yet as a commonplace rule, bible personalities weren't in any respect given focused actual descriptions, in all risk in conserving with the regulation that forbids the making of any graven photograph(guy is the image and likeness of God; that is sufficient to point them yet to grant extra actual info might desire to convey approximately human worship.) The discern of Jesus isn't any exception. The Hellenic-Roman international that embraced the Jewish united states, besides the undeniable fact that, demanded extra. as a effect arose our seen representations of Jesus the earliest of that's the discern of the stable Shepherd. right here, Jesus is depicted diverse from what next representations make him out to be- the long-tressed noticeably much female thought of the Christ. pupils say the long hair originated from the mandylion- a relic in Constantinople, in all risk the Shroud which bore the imprint of the face of our Lord. the female character might have resulted from a misreading of the gospel line "...for i'm meek and humble of heart."

Contemporary textual evidence on Jesus' life is scarce, and specific descriptions of his appearance even more so. There are no direct references to his appearance during his physical lifetime, though Revelation 1:13–16 describes his features as he appears in his heavenly form, as seen in a vision by John the Divine. These have sometimes been used in modern arguments concerning Jesus' race,

1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks [one] like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
1:14 His head and [His] hairs [were] white like wool, as white as snow; and His eyes [were] as a flame of fire;
1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and His voice as the sound of many waters.
1:16 And He had in His right hand seven stars: and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and His countenance [was] as the sun shineth in his strength. (KJV translation)

Well there is this scripture speaking of when Jesus was growing up as a child-
Luke 2:52
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

John 20:31
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

-What specifically are you looking for? Oooh previous poster put Isaiah 53- that is a great verse in that chapter! Yes he was average looking- simple looking man-

yer i think maybe there might have been a very small bit. but who cares what he looks like! The bible is to be able to know what happened in Jesus' life and see that he did infact die so that everyones sins could be forgivern. what the point in filling it with descriptions when ther is the message from God himself to read instead!

Are you referring to his physical appearance?

Why would they include Jesus' physical appearance? The gospels are not autobiographies. They are simply to talk about his ACTIONS and his TEACHINGS. Plus no one else in the gospels have a physical description as well.

description of Jesus in the bible?
You seem to miss the whole point behind faith. You need faith to believe. It all depends on how you view it,as either one with faith or one with out.
