I wanted to know if someone can use your credit card to purchase things, etc with just the credit card number or do they need the Card Verification number along with the credit card number? I believe someone may have gotten a hold of my credit card number and address and name, but not my Card Verification number. But I wanted to know if you can steal with just that info. I know most places ask for that verification number, though.

Yes a thief could still use your Credit Card Number. Many Phone orders don't need the verification Number. Also if some one has your card information the can create a new card to be swiped. which requires no verification number.

Call your Credit Card company and report it as stolen and have them issue you a new card. Otherwise you could be liable for the fraudulent charges because you didn't report them.

Merchants are supposed to get the CCV # anytime they don't actuall see the card. Anyone who has ever bought pizza on a card knows they don't. Name, billing address, and card # is usually all you need.
