I would think a strawberry blond would look good if you have a typical redhead complexion (pale with freckles). If you go too dark it may make you appear washed-out.

If you are a natural redhead then you probably have warm toned skin. In the book, Color Me Beautiful, people were sorted into four categories based on skin tone and hair color.

Cool seasons were Winter - cool skin tone/dark hair (think Cher or Diana Ross) and Summers - cool skin tones/light hair (think Princess Diana) Warm seasons were Autumn - warm skin tone/dark hair (Carol Burnett) and Spring - warm skin tone/lighter hair (Michelle Williams).

If you are a natural redhead, you probably have a warm skin tone. You want to dye your hair a warm color that compliments your skin tone. Stick to reddish tones or golden or warm blonds or brunettes. Avoid ash tones.

I don't understand why someone with naturally red hair would want to dye it, especially auburn, which is the best shade you can have. Leave it alone!

it depends on your skin tone and eye color. my sister has naturally red hair and brown eyes with a fair complexion and she dyes her hair a dark brown. it looks really good. i say go with a brown.

Go for a light to medium brown. I wouldn't go for a severe black because it'll make you look washed out.

Or go blonde for a dramatic change!
