why all the global warming news goes down when we get the weather reports of -40 in New York, Ohio, and other places in the East? Is global warming only around when we have warm spells in the winter time?

Seems more like a Weather Conditional Fallacy rather than an Inconvenient Truth

Well, living in Alaska, I can certainly tell the climate is changing....I just don't buy into the hype. I remember in the 70s, the big deal was the looming Ice Age. Exact same type of hysterics - gloom and doo, we're all going to die, BS, BS, BS, BS.

Remember, folks, these are the same type of people who said don't eat eggs, period. Then it was, well, maybe an egg here and there isn't so bad. Now, eggs are good for you again.

I just don't buy into the hype anymore.

Global warming is not a weather forecast.
Global warming refers to the earth's overall increase in temperature.
With the earth warming every year, it does mean that our climates will change, water levels will rise, animals will be forced out of their habitat, areas that are usually colder, will get warmer, bringing in insects that normally won't be that environment, etc...
Pretending that global warming isn't happening, won't make it go away!

It's a fair point, I agree. It shows how the issue of global warning only makes an impact on the population when it affects us. Sadly much of the other affects on the planet and nature are ignored. It would be good to see more interest and awareness of the issue in the media and the public.

global warming is a gradual increase in temperature over a long period of time. there may be fluctuations (such as the -40 degrees in the east) but over several years the average temperature increases by tenths of a degree.

They claim that is one of the affects of Global Warning. It think it is just another excuse to ram more government control down our throat.
