Well, it sounds like there are only five sides included on the surface area. So just find the area of all five sides and add them up.
Top = 30*20 = 600
Left = 20*12 = 240
Right = 20*12 = 240
Front = 30*12 = 360
Back = 30*12 = 360
Base = 0
Surface Area = 600+240+240+360+360 = 1800

You have 5 flat -glass surfaces in total: top-right-left-front-back. The area of one rectanglar surface is heightxwidth (one length times the other).
So add all the (5) surfaces up.
