if your using regular cable than you my not even notice a difference between the two. plasma will give you the better picture due to they higher contrast ratios the have over lcd tv. meaning the reproduce black and darker colors more accurately

They both work fine with cable but more people are staying away from plasma because after time plasma tv's get what they call hot spots in them after a few years also plasma tv's run very hot so LCD tv's are the better way to go.

neither they both suck with regular cable, but there is a solution run the signal through a progressive scan DVD/VCR and you can actually get a better picture
