probably around 300... i'm pretty sure most people burn about 100 calories per mile, and speed isn't a significant factor.

It depends on your weight. The basic formula is:

calories burned = weight X distance

Note that speed is not part of the equation. You burn the same number of calories walking a mile, as you do running a mile.

However, carrying weights while you travel those 3 miles, will indeed increase the number of calories your body burns.

It would depend on your weight and your pace. If you walk 3 mph and you weigh 200 pounds, you probably burned about 300-350 calories!!
