There is Mac Operating Systems, and there is Mac hardware.

Well, there is Stuffit, on Mac OS 7 to OS 9 plus OS X.
More, like if you run theGNU/Linux and *BSD's on Mac machines, http://livecdlist.com ( yellow dog, Ubuntu are two of the many taht do MAC hardware).

Plus, you also have the archive programs and the whole repository at http://sourceforge.net

Macs come standard with Stuffit. If you see any files with a .sit extension, it's a file that's been compressed with Stuffit. There are others, but since Macs already come with a really good one, I'd just stick with it.
