If your friend has had this condition, he should consult a gastroenterologist ASAP. Intestinal symptoms like you mention can be caused from a vast array of conditions as benign as IBS or as serious as cancer, though only an intestinal specialist will be able to accurately diagnose him. Having had several intestinal issues (and countless intestinal examinations and procedures) myself, I know the agony caused by not knowing what the exact cause is for these symptoms. So, from someone who's been there, I strongly recommend your friend see a gastroenterologist pronto. Best of luck.

Could be Crohn's Disease or Colitis. Check out this site : www.ccfa.org. A trip to a Gastroenterologist's office should answer any questions he has.

Your friend MUST...repeat MUST...see a doctor immediately. This is a VERY serious situation and could be indicative of a possibly life-threatening disease. Insist that he go and offer to go with him if that will make him feel better about going.

This kind of chronic diarrhea isn't normal and surely your friend must realize this. Convince him if you can to see a doctor. His condition may very well be treatable and correctable.

I'm no doctor, but it sure sounds like irritable bowel syndrome to me! Tell him to get it checked out - it may be something more serious like Crohn's disease or colon problems.
I wish you both well.

Sounds like IBS. I have it and you described me to a T. Go to your doctor and he'll be able to refer you to a good Gastroenterologist. It's probably not Crohn's Disease unless you are very sick. Crohn's Disease is an auto immune disease. Hope he feels better! =)
