I have been on birth control for two months. But i was wondering when you take the pill for 3 weeks and then you take the pill designed for when you get your period (thats not reall the bp pill), do you have to wait to have sex?... since your not on the real pill. Or as soon as you start the pill again can you have sex.

that last week's pills are a sugar pill, a placebo, or sometimes an iron pill (since you are losing blood).

they are there to keep you on your pill taking schedule so you don't forget to start taking them again when your period is over.
you can have sex that week, and the likelyhood of getting pregnant is slim since you aren't ovulating (this happens right in the middle of your cycle - usually between the 10th & 18th days, but exactly when depends on your own body's 'schedule')

now, i have questions for you. i don't mean to be preachy, but why are you having sex without the use of a condom??? the pill should be a back-up method or ONLY used alone when you are in a long-term monogamous relationship. (anything less than a year DOSEN'T count as long-term!) sure, it WILL protect you from pregnancy, but do you know what an std can do to you?
do a google image search for different kinds of std's. you won't eat for a week.

and FOR THE LOVE OF (fill in deity of choice), why has no one - ESPECIALLY your doctor explained this to you?!?!?!?

excuse me while i find a brick wall to bang my head into...

Well, doctors have always told me that you shouldn't have sex until two months after having started your new pills for the first time. The fourth week of birth control (usually the discolored ones), those are reminder pills- they aren't medicated. There is no medication in that week because you only need to take it for three weeks to cover one full month. You shouldn't get pregnant during that week however there are never any promises to birth control. Please remember though that birth control is never 100%. I know of someone that was using condoms (since birth control doesn't protect against sexually transmitted diseases) and was using birth control pills and she still got pregnant. So, remember before you have sex - ask yourself, are you ready to take the chance of getting pregnant? Stay safe! Hope this answers your question.

Your period is the discharge of the dead blood cells that lined you vaginal walls so the egg would have something to attach to when fertilized. The egg wasn't fertilized so your body is getting rid of the extra. You can't get pregnant during this time. It's impossible but it very very messy to have sex at that time of the month. If your guy can stand it, then go for it, it's the one time you're perfectly safe.

I don't know where these people are getting this stuff about the other pills being sugar pills, they are vitamins and to keep you taking the pill on a daily basis.

When you start taking the pill you are on the pill. The little pills they give you are to keep you reminded to take your pills and taking one every day, day after day. You should read the directions that came with them or talk to your doctor if you have any more questions like this. You need to understand how it works so you don't mess up.
